PSP agent who killed Odair Moniz has already returned to service

A PSP officer identified as Bruno Pinto, who killed Odair Moniz under circumstances that generated great public controversy, returned to active duty this week at a station on the Southern Bank. The lifting of the court-imposed precautionary measures, as well as the dismissal of the internal disciplinary proceedings, allowed this reintegration into the force.
A nine-year-old child was seriously injured after falling from the second floor of a building. As soon as the mother realized the accident, she called emergency number 112. The girl was treated at the scene by an INEM medical team and later transported with serious injuries to the Hospital das Caldas da Rainha.
The family of Odair Moniz has appealed the sentence handed down to PSP officer Bruno Pinto, who was sentenced to three years and six months of suspended sentence for the homicide of Odair Moniz. The family defense contests several aspects of the judicial decision, including the assessment of evidence and the reasoning of the ruling, requesting an aggravation of the sentence.
The overturning of a passenger car resulted in three minor injuries on Thursday afternoon, on National Road 246, near the Tendeiros Solar Center, in the municipality of Castelo de Vide, in the district of Portalegre.
A nine-year-old girl fell from a second-floor balcony and suffered serious fractures to the pelvic girdle and hip area, being in serious condition. The incident is being investigated by the competent authorities.
