Meta agreed to pay more than 16 billion euros and implement enhanced security measures on its social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook, to avoid a federal trial in the United States. The lawsuit accused the company of intentionally developing addictive digital platforms targeting children. Meta denies all the allegations but chose to reach a out-of-court settlement to end the dispute.
